Application of Chinese and Western Patterns of Thinking in the Training of Two Singing Styles

Different cultural backgrounds of China and the West produced different esthetic standards in singing, which are also closely related to different patterns of thinking. The traditional Chinese pattern of thinking starts from the whole to grasp the essence of classic singing in a whole-to-part process, whereas the Western way of thinking starts from the parts to master the essence of singing in a part-to-whole process. Therefore, a deeper understanding of the similarities and differences between Chinese and Western patterns of thinking in singing can help improve the training in the two singing styles.
