The Influence of Higher Education on the Formation of Scientific Activity Center in England

In the 2nd half of the 17th century, England became the second world-wide scientific activity center after Italy. The paper, with detailed historical material, makes an investigation and analysis on the background of high education of how England has become the center of scientific activity, and looks into the reasons of the forming of the scientific activity center of England from new angle of view. The paper consists of four parts: the posing of the problem, higher education in England before the 17th century, the reform and changes of the British higher education in the 17th century, and the influence of the higher education on the formation of the scientific activity center in England.
