世界英语的发展与中国英语变体

英语已成为当今世界的国际语言或世界语言,英语的繁荣和扩散及其在世界经济、文化和政治中的重要性带来了英语教育的相应变化和发展。在繁荣和扩散的过程中,英语的发展产生了两大趋向:标准英语和英语变体(非标准英语)。本文分析了世界英语的历史、社会和政治背景,介绍世界英语发展的三大类型,指出英语在中国的本土化为时尚早,中国英语体系还不够成熟。

The Spread of World Englishes and China English Variety

English has become today's international language or world language. The unprecedented spread of English also has unprecedented economic,cultural and political implications which have brought about the relevant change and development of English education.Currently,there are two contrasting attitudes toward English development represented by Quirk's view on standard English and Kachru's view on English varieties(non native Englishes). This paper analyzes the historical,social and political context of the spread of world Englishes,introduces the three distinct groups of English users,and points out that it is not the right time for the nativinization of English in China,because such variety as China English has not yet been established systematically.
