形合、意合的普遍性与相对性及其深层动因

形合与意合是语言构建的外在表征，也是英汉两种语言之间的重要区别特征。指出在句子及句子以下层面是英语重形合，汉语重意合，而在句子以上（语篇）层面，英语重形合、汉语重意合只是一个相对概念，是语用主体出于交际目的之需要在实际话语活动中的语用选择，这种选择受认知环境、文化认知范式、审美取向的影响和制约。

On universality, relativity of hypataxis and parataxis and their motivation

Hypotaxis and parataxis are external manifestation of language.They are also the most important distinguishing features between Chinese and English.This paper pointed out that below the sentence level,English is featured by hypotaxis and Chinese by parataxis.But at the level of text,hypataxis and parataxis are of relativity,and they are language users' pragmatic choices which are affected and controlled by the cognitive environment,cultural cognitive paradigm and aesthetic orientation.
