李伯元及其对"小说界革命"的贡献

19世纪末20世纪初,李伯元到上海办报、办刊,为小说的发表提供了广阔的园地.他办报刊是为了"觉世",与此后梁启超提倡的"小说界革命"的目的不谋而合.在他办的报刊上发表了大量有影响的小说.他自己创作的小说真实地反映了当时社会的某些本质特征,淋漓尽致地揭露了大官小吏的封建性和买办性,在晚清特定的历史条件下,开指谪政治,纪实时事之先河.

Li Boyuan and His Contribution to Novel Reform

At the end of 19th century and the beginning of 20th century, Li Boguan came to Shanghai and ran a newspaper and a magazine there, thus offered opportunities for the publication of novels. Li's ideal was to awaken the public, which corresponded tO the slogan Of Liang Qichao's Novel Reform. While publishing a large number of influential novels, he also wrote novels himself reflect- ing the characteristics of the society and thoroughly revealing the comprador- feudal nature of government officials. Under the special circumstances of the late Qing Dynasty, Li blazed new trails for political satire and documentary writings.
