论晚清俭奢观的嬗变

晚清俭奢观的演变大致经历了三个时期:第一个时期是十九世纪四五十年代,经世派开始对传统的“黜奢崇俭”进行反思;第二个时期是在60年代到90年代,洋务派、维新派等则对之予以揭露、批判;第三个时期是在十九、二十世纪之交,革命派与立宪派的批判兼具有相当的理性色彩。总体看来,晚清俭奢观的嬗变经历了相形复杂的过程,在不同的时期,人们对俭与奢的认同感迥异,或偏激,或理性,但其递进色彩明显,一脉相承,日趋完善而成熟,并显现出不同的个性特征。

Study on the Vicissitude of Extravagance in Late Qing Dynasty

The idea of thriftiness or extravagance in late Qing dynasty approximately fell into three phases. In the first phase that was in the 40~50’s, the group of administering affairs began to ponder over the traditional idea of “rejecting extravagance and upholding thriftiness”, which was later disclosed and critized by the group of advocating the westernization movement, the reforming group and so on in the second phase that was in the 60~90's. In the third phase that was in the crossing period of the 20th century, the criticism from the revolutionary group and the group of advocating the constitutionalism had been quite rational. In general, the vicissitude of extravagance in late Qing dynasty had been a quite complex process, because during different periods, people understood thriftiness or extravagance in very different ways, either extreme or rational. However, it showed a distinctive gradual progress which came down in one continuous line, increasingly meliorated and matured, to present different characteristics of uniqueness.
