李先芳与“后七子”公案辨诬

在明中叶第二次诗文复古运动中,李先芳参与的时间要早于李攀龙之外的其他六人,且有引介王世贞之功,可谓诗社先驱,却名不在“七子”之列,而被置于“广五子”之中。此事作为一桩公案被钱谦益等人借为攻击后七子的口实而加以渲染。事实上,所谓李先芳的被摈弃,有外部时空条件的限制:加入刑部诗社后不久即离京外放,在七子集团形成之前未参与活动;也有他自身的原因,一是诗文创作才力不逮,二是为人轻薄放浪,对诗社态度迟疑动摇,而并非李攀龙等人有意摈之。李先芳诗名藉甚却成就不高,然也有不少诗思秀发之作,亦齐鲁间一才人。

On the Relations between Li Xianfang and Hou Qi Zi

During the second poetic restoration movement in the middle of Ming Dynasty,Li Xianfang failed to be regarded as Hou Qi Zi,despite his earlier participation than others except Li Panlong.So it became the excuse for some people to verbally attack the Hou Qi Zi.In fact,no sooner had he joined the poem society than he left Beijing.Therefore,he didn't take part in any activities before the group of Hou Qi Zi took shape.In addition,his failure to become the core member of the society was due to his unsatisfactory works and wavering attitude towards society,rather than purposed excluded by Li Panlong and other members.
