NATO' s Changes and Its Development Prospect after the Cold War

Since the end of Cold War, NATO has been tying to change its role by making a series of adjustment. These changes have diluted its military identity and increased its political profile. Faced with threat of terrorism, NATO has to reform itself so as to adapt to the demand of times. The Prague Summit was meant to build a new NATO, in other words, to identify new missions, to admit new members, and to develop new capability. NATO's transition has greatly influenced the global security, and China has correspondingly altered her understanding and countermeasures toward NATO.
