| 摘 要： | 伊诺克·鲍威尔因在伯明翰的演讲中清楚地表达了对有色移民和种族关系的看法而在一夜之间成为举国上下关注的焦点。鲍威尔的言论被称之为“鲍威尔主义”,主要内容包括要求英国停止有色移民涌入、遣返并鼓励有色移民向外移出、批判种族关系法、认为不同族裔之间不可能融合等。鲍威尔主义遭到了政治家的一致谴责,却受到了白人民众的空前支持,对英国政治和社会产生了深远的影响。

| Abstract: | After the World War Ⅱ , virtually overnight, Enoch Powell transformed from being an marginal--political figure into being a cynosure of attention in the country for his Birmingham speech on April 20, 1968. Powell argued for stopping further inflow and promoting the maximum outflow of colorful migrant; he argued for impossibility of assimilation among different ethnics and therefore didn＇t agree with Race Relations Bill. Powellism was condemned by other politicians, but supported by vast majority, and had important influence on British politics and society. |
