以隐喻研究的历史发展为主线,以《哈姆雷特》这个巨大的隐喻宝库为语料,运用各个历史发展时期具有代表性的隐喻理论——从最早的传统修辞理论,到80年代引起隐喻史上巨大变革的认知理论——再到近年随着系统功能语言学而兴起的语法隐喻理论,从这三方面来探讨隐喻的不同作用。

Different Functions of Metaphor in Hamlet

This thesis applies the different representative theories about metaphor in different historical periods to the analysis of the different functions of metaphor in Hamlet: from the earliest traditional metaphor theory which emphasizes the rhetorical function of metaphor to the revolutionary cognitive metaphor theory in 1980s which focuses on the cognitive function of metaphor then to the recent grammar metaphor theory rooted in the F-G linguistics which proposes metaphor's communicative function.
