| Abstract: | Halliday and Hasan regard collocation as one of the most important means in the lexical cohesion.Collocation here not only refers to the lateral syntagmatic relations within a phrase or a sentence,but also includes the habitual co-occurrence of the lexical items in cross-sentences or even cross- paragraphs.By analyzing the examples,this paper explores the cohesive features and the profound cultural connotations in the textual collocations. |
