There exist psychological conflicts in the minds of first year students in TCM colleges and universities. The conflicts are mainly caused by the contradiction between sense of pride and sense of inferiority, contradiction between the feeling of freshness and disappointment, lack of clear aim of effort and too much dependence. To motivate the students is what the university should do. It includes the motivation of cognition, self-improvement and attachment.
