| Abstract: | Under the influence of the Taoist tenets, the Taoists devote their lives to the study and practice of cultivating their temperament and prolonging life. They have sought for medicines and practiced alchemy, which promotes the development of the science of materia medica. They have also created a unique set of methods of regimen, which promotes the development of the science of health preservation. |
