| 摘 要： | 传教士创办中文报刊的最初目的是宣传基督教,中国第一个近代报刊《察世俗每月统记传》 即为典型的宗教报刊。19世纪30年代《东西洋考每月统记传》创刊后偏离了这一宗旨,开始把重点从传 教转至宣传西学,实现了从传播宗教到传播西学的转变。19世纪六七十年代以后出现了非宗教性报刊与 宗教性报刊并存的局面,进人20世纪后又回到了宣传基督教的原点。传教士中文报刊经历了一个从传 播宗教到传播西学最后又回到传播宗教的演变过程。
