文章从国俗语义学的角度对比分析了英汉语言中红、黑、白三个色彩词国俗语义的异同及原因,并通过考察分析英汉跨文化交际中涉及基本色彩词的一些实例,指出基本色彩词的理解和应用对跨文化交际具有重要影响,其正确得当与否直接关系到交际效果或成败。

The National Cultural Meaning of English and Chinese Basic Color Terms and Intercultural Communication

From the perspective of national cultural semantics, this paper makes a comparative study of the national cultural meanings of the three basic color terms"red","black"and"white"in English and Chinese.And by examining some practical examples involving color terms in intercultural communication,it argues that our way to understand and use basic color terms may affect intercultural communication,having a direct bearing on its effect or result.
