Demonizing and Reproduction of Power Relations: Content Analysis on News about Migrant Workers on Domestic Newspapers

Research indicates that there are ＂demonized＂ stereotypes in news about migrant workers. ＂Demonized＂ stereotypes has hidden discourse violence, and reflected the asymmetrical power relations between migrant workers and citizens. As a spe- cial symbolic form, the meaning it expresses and conveys promotes the production of these power relations by highlighting the group of border, promoting groups identity and providing legitimacy for the dualistic social structure made of citizens group and migrant workers which oppose to each other.
