| 摘 要： | 福克纳作品《喧哗与骚动》中的人物杰生，历来被看成是邪恶的人物形象，偶尔有人论及造成他邪恶的原因和他的复杂性，其结论都是对这一人物持否定态度。其实尽管杰生可恶，但他也有好的一面，他独自挑着养活全家人的重担二十余年，尽了责任，做出了巨大牺牲，说明他并非完全邪恶，我们理应对他表示同情，作出公正评价。

| Abstract: | Jason,a figure in Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury, is always regarded as a vicious character. Occa- sionally, the reason of his being vicious and his complexity are discussed, but the conclusions are almost all against him.It is regarded in this paper that though Jason is vicious,he also has his good aspects.He carries the burden of supporting his family for over twenty years and has conducted his responsibility and made great self-sacrifice, which shows that he is not completely vicious. We should show him sympathy and give him impartial judgment. |
