摘    要:在总结分析国内外对文化素质指数构建相关研究的基础上,基于2010年中国第六次人口普查(简称"六普")资料,利用总和就学率的方法构建中国教育发展指数,提出新的教育发展指数评判标准,教育发展指数达到90可以视为高度发达水平,并指出提升我国教育发展水平还需要在义务教育、城乡教育统筹方面付诸努力。

Reconstructing China's Education Development Index(EDI): Based on the 6th National Census
Abstract:By reviewing the literature at home and abroad on building Human Development Index, and using thedata of 6th national census, this paper reconstructed China Education Development Index (EDI) based on totalschool attendance rate. It also came up with a new criteria to evaluate EDI, namely, EDI of 90 can be recom-mended as the highly developed. At the same time, it pointed out that education development is to be improvedby devoting efforts to compulsory education and the balance between urban and rural education.
