中国古代南北文化特色论

中国古代地大物博，早以埋下南北文化不同的种子；在南北朝分而治之后，南北文化的地域特色不断趋于凸显。《北史》《隋书》论南北文章、学术的不同宗尚，明代董其昌论画分“南北二宗”，徐渭论曲分“南曲北调”，清代阮元、包世臣、刘熙载、康有为论书分南北派，梁启超总结、纵论“中国地理”决定的南北文化、艺术之“大势”，等等，形成了中国古代丰富的南北文化特色论，对于当下的地域文化研究不无参考价值。

On the North-South Cultural Features in Ancient China

The vast territory in ancient China long sowed the seeds for diverse cultures. In the fifth and sixth centuries when the Southern and Northern Dynasties reigned over China, the regional features became more prominent in the north-south cultures. The History of the Northern Dynasties and the Book of the Sui Dynasty analyzed the different schools of writings and learning in the south and the north, Dong Qichang in the Ming Dynasty the north and the south schools of painting, Xu Wei the north and the south schools of melody in music, Ruan Yuan, Bao Shicheng, Liu Xizai and Kang Youwei in the Qing Dynasty the north and the south schools of writings, and Liang Qichao the geography determining the north and the south schools of cultures and arts. These analyses enrich the discussions of the north-south cultures, which is of great significance in the present regional cultural studies.
