| Abstract: | Sound symbolism is divided into direct sound symbolism and synaesthetic sound symbolism. Words based on sound symbolism are arbitrary and conventiorial as most English words. The paper, first deals with two types of sound symbolism and their respective characteristics, and then explores its unique language charm in literature, especially iri poetry. |
