近代西方传教士来华从事高等教育活动的成因分析

19世纪80年代以后,西方传教士来华办学规模扩大,办学层次提高,教会大学应运而生,并得以蓬勃发展。近代西方传教士来华从事高等教育活动的成因有三:西方资本主义国家的志愿传教运动为西方传教士来华办学提供了前提条件;中外不平等条约为西方传教士来华从事教育活动提供了可能;社会和教育的发展为传教士从事高等教育活动提供了必要条件。

Analysis of Western Missionarise' Coming to China for Higher Education Activities in Modern Times
