摘    要:ESP从20世纪60年代诞生之日起至今已经走过了半个多世纪的发展历程,ESP教学在国外很多国家发展得如火如荼,无论在理论还是实践方面都取得了丰硕成果。然而我国ESP教学虽然起步并不算晚,至今仍处于探索阶段,这种滞后严重地影响了我国跟上世界经济全球化发展的步伐,对人才的培养极为不利。以新的视角对ESP尤其是其特质做了详细的归纳和梳理,分析了当前亟待解决的影响我国大学英语教学向ESP转型的问题,并提出了若干应对措施。

Abstract:Since 1960s,ESP has been considered one of the most significant language teaching and learning areas.In contrast with rich accumulation in both theories and practices in other countries,ESP teaching in China fell far behind the world and is still in its infancy period at present,which greatly affects the communicative ability in English of undergraduate students.This study makes a thorough investigation into ESP,especially its defining characteristics from new perspectives and also analyzes some factors which defer the shift from EGP teaching to ESP teaching.In addition,some suggestions are proposed.
