| Abstract: | The greatness of The Scarlet Letter lies in the heroine Hester Prynne who is the victim of the early American Puritan rule. She defies power and puts up a tenacious fight against the colonial rule combined by church and state. This article tries to analyse Hester Prynne from the point of view of feminism in order that we can better dig and evaluate this rebellious character. |
