Diaspora:Its Definition,Differentiation,Conglomeration and Reconstruction

Diaspora is a hot topic among the contemporary academics. In China, there is even no commonly accepted Chinese translation, although more and more scholars have adopted the concept. This paper is to review the diaspora from the perspective of social anthropology. Focusing on how the concept varies around the world and goes along with the globalization, this paper is to explore its social implications, particularly the challenges to the traditional theories of nation-state, citizenship, and identity.
