中国古代传统道德生活史序言

一般来说，道德生活与伦理思想、道德理论的关系是社会存在与社会意识的关系，但它们之间不是绝对的，而是相互依存的，而且不断地进行着相互渗透、相互转化。《中国古代伦理生活史》坚持以马克思主义的唯物史观和辩证法为指导，从科学的社会发展史出发，坚持中国的古代社会从远古到清朝末，经历过原始社会、奴隶社会和封建社会三个社会形态的论断，并以此作为“主要经线”，以家庭婚姻道德、政治行政道德、社会行业及不同阶层的道德为“主要纬线”，围绕着一定时期人们的行为准则及道德规范这个核心，来构筑理论框架，努力展现我国古代道德生活的原貌和它的历史演变，揭示出其中的本质和发展变化的规律性。

Preface to A History of Traditional Moral Lives in Ancient China

Generally speaking, the relationship of moral life to ethical thoughts and moral theories is indeed one of social being to social consciousness. Nevertheless, the relationship is not absolute unilateral, rather it is mutually-dependent, constantly mutually interwoven and translated. A History of Ethic Lives in Ancient China is a book written in the lights of Marxist material concept of history and dialectics. Under the scientific history of social development, it insists that ancient Chinese society, from the antique to the end of Qing Dynasty, underwent three social forms： primitive society, slavery society and feudal society. Based on the argument, which is used as the ＂artery clue＂ , and with surveys on the moralities in family and marriage, politics and administration, social vocations and social classes, which serves as the ＂branch clues＂ , this book establishes it theoretical frameworks on the behavior conducts and moral norms of people in particular historical periods. It is an attempt to presenting the facts and historical evolutions of moral lives in ancient China and to revealing the nature and evolutionary laws in the history.
