摘    要:在"西学东渐"的大背景下,"美术"译文首现于展览空间并不是一种翻译上的机缘巧合。因为西方现代意义上的"艺术"、"美术",乃是与公共领域内的艺术制度紧密相联的。明了"美术"历史生成的"跨历史文化语境"实践,明了民族国家主体在"跨文化历史语境"实践中的困顿和选择,我们就不难理解中国艺术现代性从一开始就呈现出来的推动国家现代性历程的文化自觉。而这也正是中国现代艺术发展在20世纪后期饱受当代艺术家诟病的向国家意识形态投诚的根源所在。

Abstract:Under the background of " western learning" , it is not an occasional coincidence of translation that the translation of "fine art" shows in the exhibition space, because there are close connection between the western modern "art", "fine art" and the art system in the public sphere. If we understand clearly that the cross - context practice of the historical generation of "fine art" , and that the dilemma and choice from the national subject in the crosscontext practices, it is not difficult for us to comprehend the promotion from cultural consciousness of artistic modernity from the beginning of history of national modernity. This is the root that the art development in China always crosses over to the state ideology and has often been criticized by modem artists in the later 20th century.
