| 摘 要： | 通过对田纳西·威廉姆斯《欲望号街车》的三组意象即地名和人名;音乐和色彩;扑克、水和灯罩的分析,探讨了剧中巧妙地运用象征手法以及其所得到的效果,充分揭示了美国南方衰落的传统文明与新兴的北方工业文明产生的剧烈冲突和矛盾。剧中主人公布兰奇悲剧的一生正是美国社会的一个缩影,是一出社会堕落的悲剧。

| Abstract: | How Tennessee Williams,Americandramatist,skillfully applied symbolism to his play Streetcar Named Desire and the effect he managed to achieve by such an application are discussed by analyzing the three groups of images（place names and person names;music and color;poker,water and lamp shade）,clearly revealing the acute conflict and contradiction between the southern traditional civilization that was going downhill and the northern emerging industry civilization.The tragic life of Blanch is the very miniature of American society and a tragedy of social deterioration. |
