| 摘 要： | 委婉语是社会语言学的一种语言现象 ,它带有鲜明的社会文化心理标记。文章从 4个方面论述了委婉语的形成和使用是出于人们不同的社会心理需要。委婉语随着社会的发展而更新。熟悉和掌握委婉语 ,有利于提高英语鉴赏和应用水平 ,在交际中了解英美人的心理与风俗文化。

| Abstract: | Euphemism is a sociolinguistic phenomenon. It shows distinctive psychological marks of the social culture. And this paper discusses euphemism from four aspects about its formation and application which are derived from various kinds of social psychological needs. Euphemism renews as the society develops. So it's beneficial to get familiar with and command it in order to enhance English level of appreciation and understand the British and American psychology and culture in communication. |
