《葛底斯堡演说》及其三个中译文的经验功能探讨——功能语言学分析对翻译研究的启示

韩礼德建构系统功能语法的目的之一是为语篇研究提供一个分析框架。迄今为止,国内外学者对《葛底斯堡演说》从不同的角度进行过分析,但从系统功能语法的角度进行英汉语篇的对比分析还不多见。文章以系统功能语法为理论框架,从经验功能、物性系统的过程,和参与者以及语态出发,对《葛底斯堡演说》及其三篇中译文进行比较研究。以系统功能语法为框架的语篇分析在翻译研究方面的运用,目的在于通过对翻译作品进行语言分析,重新审视翻译研究中的一些问题,从而为翻译研究拓展更广阔的天地,同时也检验系统功能语言学在翻译研究中的操作性和应用性。

A Study of the Gettysburg Address and the Three Translated Versions from the Perspective of Experiential Metafunction——Insight of Functional Analysis to Translation Studies

One of the purposes of Halliday's systemic functional linguistics is to provide an analytical tool to discourse analysis.Although scholars home and abroad have conducted analysis towards the Gettysburg Address from various perspectives,in the literature till date,there are few studies on its translations within Hallidayan framework.This paper attempts to study the Gettysburg Address and the three translated versions from the perspective of Experiential Metafunction within Systemic Functional Linguistics(SFL).It is hoped that the present study will provide a good insight into the translation studies and test the applicability of systematic functional linguistics to discourse analysis.
