| 摘 要： | 《卡斯特桥市长》是托马斯·哈代一系列"威塞克斯"、"性格与环境小说"中非常出色的一部,其副标题是"一个有性格的人的故事"。主人公迈克尔.亨察德是一个具有生命激情和强烈性格的人,他身上的偏执、粗暴与正直、善良结合在一起,形成了复杂多变的性格特征。心理学认为,人物的性格由人物的人格结构来决定。从西格蒙德.弗洛伊德的人格结构理论来解读亨察德性格的复杂性,可以揭示出小说主人公亨察德的本我、自我和超我在斗争中逐渐协调平衡,性格也变得日趋成熟的基本逻辑。
