基于议会制模式的大学生英语辩论分析

采用定性分析方法,运用Martin和White提出的评价理论对一场美国议会制辩论进行研究,探讨了基于议会制模式的大学生英语辩论与批判性思维的问题,结果表明辩手基于陈述话语来源和主体责任程度的主体间立场,运用适当的态度和级差策略可以有效地确立己方观点、适时准确有力地进行反驳和提出异议,同时辩护己方论据,在立论-驳论-辩护的螺旋运动过程中达到消除争议、谋求共识的目的。

On Parliamentary English Debate at College

Based on the Appraisal theory proposed by Martin and White,the present study focused on an American Parliamentary debate qualitatively,aiming to examine the cultivation of critical thinking through participation in parliamentary form of academic debate.It was found that based on the intersubjective stance stating the sources of voice and the undertaking of "subjective responsibility",Government and Opposition both adopt suitable Graduation and Attitude strategies to establish their own thesis,make a timely,accurate and forceful rebuttal and disagreement and justify their respective evidence for the purpose of reaching a common ground on the basis of eliminating disputes in a spiral form of movement threaded by constructive speech,rebuttal and justificatory response to opponent’s POI.
