A Review of the Studies of the Italian Arts from 12th to 15th Century

In perspectives of artists and works,psychology,iconography and sociology of art,this article makes a detailed review of the studies of the Italian arts from 12th to 15th century.It points out that the studies are a reflection of shift of methodology in the study of the history of the western arts and they changed our conception of the relationship of the Renaissance and the ancient Greek and Roman cultures.The article concludes that the studies are a part of the Christian culture in the Middle Ages.
