An Analysis of Sexuality under Patriarchal Domination

Alice Walker is an influential African American woman writer in American literature.In most of her works,she explores the sufferings of Blacks;especially those of Black women who are oppressed by not only Whites but also Black men.For African American culture is male-dominant,and so it enforces patriarchal rules with regard to its attitudes toward male and female sexuality.And this thesis mainly discusses the sexuality under patriarchal domination depicted in Alice Walker’s The Color Purple.
