| |
Abstract: | Portia,in The Merchant of Venice,is the incarnation of Shakespearian feminism and the perfect figure.Beautiful, wise, and kind as she is,however, back in the then society,Portia was forced to depend on males and could never escape her destiny of being controlled by patriarchy, which proves that the then feminism had certain relative limitations. The paper,by analyzing the plot and classic clips, points out her imperfect feminism. |
