英汉经济用语中“路径”概念隐喻的比较研究

从认知语义学角度看,在"概念隐喻"的层次上,比较英汉经济用语中"路径"隐喻在使用上存在的异同,若运用实证的研究方法,从跨语种和跨文化方面对"当代隐喻理论"进行验证,会发现英汉在认识经济概念时使用了许多共同的来源域。不同之处体现在"路径"隐喻使用的细节方面。

A comparative study of the Path Metaphor in English and Chinese economic discourse

This thesis makes an effort to compare the use of the PATH conceptual metaphor in English and Chinese economic discourse. The study has found that English and Chinese share the basic experiential logic of the PATH metaphor in describing economic concepts and activities. The differences lie in the specific usage of the conceptual metaphor. The study results in the following conclusions. First, the hypothesis that economic activity is largely conceptualized and expressed in metaphorical terms is not only true in English but also provable in Chinese. Second, the study indicates that conventional metaphors of a linguistic community correspond to the conventional patterns of thought of that community.
