Briefly on O'neill's Life Philosophy

O'Neill's life philosophy undergoes three stages. At the early stage he believes that life is mysterious and is full of exploring meanings. At the middle stage it is full of challenging meanings towards nature and the heavenly governor. At the late stage it is full of understanding of life. Although he imitates Greek tragedy to express the conflicts between man and himself, man and the living conditions, he can't jump out of the complex society. During his life he never give up the exploration for man and for the relationship between man and man, man and the universe. O'Neill's life philosophy is complicated. It is influenced by pessimism, the will of power and psychoanalysis. The ideas mentioned above work on him together and thus his specific life philosophy forms.
