The Tang Dynasty is the prime of Chinese feudalism.The literary men boasted with vigorous optimism and romancism.Peony flower,for its luxurious and magnificent appearance,was loved by both the scholars and the common people.Thanks to the wide international exchange and the free and flourishing ideological atomsphere,Buddhism,which was transmitted into China centuries before,reached its peak.The collision of the peony culture and the temple culture sparkled the age.Peony flowers were favoured in Buddhist ceremony and allusions.The cultivation of peony became an effective means to increase income of the temple and to attract literary students.
