“AB-AB”格式嬗变考察

现代汉语没有“AB-AB”式重叠，这是语言发展演变的结果。元末，“AB-AB”重叠在北方话中开始使用；稍晚，ABAB式产生。最初，两者的出现频率相差不远。“AB-AB”式重叠产生后不久，使用频率先是日益减少再日益增多，明末清初达到顶峰。清初以后，“AB-AB”的使用再次减少，现代汉语已基本上不再使用。“AB-AB”式重叠的产生当是诱导推理的结果，它的消亡则可能是汉语语法结构的明晰性、经济性与汉语音节配合追求四字格的习惯造成的。

On the Development of the Pattern of"AB-AB"

It is resulted from language development that the overlapping pattern ＂AB 一 AB＂ can hard- ly be seen in modem Chinese. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, ＂AB 一 AB＂ pattern began to be used in the north of China,and a little later ABAB arose. At first, the using frequency of the two had little difference, but the frequency of ＂AB 一 AB＂ declined day by day first and then increased again and reached the summit at the end of the Ming Dynasty or at the beginning of the Qing Dynasty. After early- Qing, the using frequency of ＂AB 一 AB＂ reduced again. Basically, in contemporary Chinese, ＂AB 一 AB＂ has al- ready been abolished. Maybe the production of ＂AB 一 AB＂ resulted from reasoning by inducing, but its extinction perhaps resulted from not only the characteristic of the grammar structure pursuing preciseness and clearness but also the habit of Chinese pursuing the four-word model.
