Abstract: | The India-based website www.ipaidabribe. corn, which provides information about bribery, has recently become popular with Chinese netizens. Any Indian citizen may leave a message on the website to share his/her experience of offering a bribe to someone or some government department. So far, more than 10,000 bribery cases, which have involved 19 departments in 347 of India's cities, have been cited on the website. Those posts alerted the lndian Government to illegal activities, and the government responded by investigating the alleged acts. Similar websites, such as http://www.93507.com/ and http:// www.wxhwz.com/, have appeared in China. The sites have attracted numerous Chinese netizens, who have posted their thoughts and/or experiences regarding this subject. |
