China is rapidly,nearing a communications milestone-- the first country to exceed 1 billion mobile phone subscribers. Nearly half of those subscribers arewomen and an increasng number of subscribers regularly use their mobile devices to access the Intemet. While the explosive growth in the use of mobiles and related applications has been met with both praise and caution, one thing is certain--there isno sign of slowing down.
