This paper studies the Yi people＇ s bamboo worshipping in terms of its cultural connotations. It is assumed that bamboo is an embodiment of human spirit, as reflected in religion, literature, art and ethics. Bamboo worshipping is a respect paid to mothers, fathers, forefathers, heroes, civilization and homeland.
