The Analysis of Pattern and Characteristic on American Student Affairs in Higher Education

Favorable to the social changes of America and the trend of massification of higher education,the development of administration of student affairs in American colleges and universities has gone through four developing stages of pattern: Student Personnel,Student Services,Student Development and Student Learning Imperative.It has become mature and is characterized with work objective centered in students' study and development,working mechanism integrated with indirect report,vertical administration and supervision outside the school,management methods with equal stress on rule of law and education,and the trend of academic and professional.
