Abstract: | Cross-cultural factors that can affect optimal career decision making among American Indians living on reservations are discussed in this article. The factors are presented in relation to: (a) knowledge of the world of work, (b) external pressures and (c) assessment. Career counseling strategies are identified that may enhance the career development process. |
