服饰源于图腾说

图腾崇拜是人类在原始社会时期普遍存在的一种宗教信仰,原始人认为自己的氏族都来源于某一种动物、植物或自然物,并以之为图腾。为图腾崇拜所激发,远古人类的生活、艺术中留下了许多图腾的遗迹。在远古时候,图腾艺术往往以固定和非固定的人体装饰进入服饰境界。固定的图腾人体装饰主要有文身,非固定的图腾人体装饰有画身画脸和衣装饰物等。倘若划分阶段,第一步为画身,进一步文身,最后演化为衣饰覆盖装身。无论是画身画脸,文身,还是向服饰本身过渡,都是一种或浓或淡的图腾同体行为,都具有神圣的意味。因而,图腾人体装饰具有服饰发生学上的意义。
