上海香山人与香山文化

香山人在近代上海移民人口中最高时达3万多,绝对数字不大,比例也不算高,但影响却不小。经济、政治、社会、文化等诸多领域中,出自香山的成功者、著名者灿若群星,其中四个方面的影响最大:一是买办集团起步早、势力大;二是环球百货、四大公司,开一代风气,极大提升了上海商业中心地位和服务形象;三是小刀会起义,四是外滩公园交涉。前两条学术界论述已多,本文对后两条作了论述。上海香山人身上的四个特点,即目光远大,视通中西;善捕良机,决策果断;脚踏实地,精益求精;融会中西,植根中年。这也是香山文化的集中反映。

Xiangshanese in Shanghai and Xiangshan Culture

Among the modern immigrants in Shanghai, Xiangshanese amounted to 30,000 people at most The absolute figure was not big and the proportion was not high, but the influence was large. In the fields of economy, politics, society and culture, many Xiangshan people were successful and famous. There were four aspects that had the most large influence. First, comprador groups started early and had great influence. Second, global department store had four companies that established the fashion and upgraded Shanghai's status as business center and its service image.The third was the Xiaodaohui Uprising. The fourth is the negotiation in the Bund Garden. Scholars has discussed a lot about the first two, and this article studied the last two. Xiangshanese in Shanghai had four features: they had great goals and was not trapped only in China; they were good at capturing good chances and making decisions immediately; they worked hard; they were familiar with both Chinese and western culture and had their roots in China. They were the reflection of Xiangshan Culture.
