The conception of "one country, two systems" by Deng Xiao-ping has provided practical conditions for the national reunification in a peaceful manner. Following the conception, the return of Hong Kong and Macao to the motherland have realized, which demonstrates its great significance. The conception has been worked out through the joint efforts of the three generations of leading collectives of our Party. In the fifties and sixties of last century, Mao Tsetung put forward the idea of peaceful liberation of Taiwan, which was the theoretical basis of the conception. Deng Xiao-ping developed the idea into a comprehensive and systematic theory. The conception of "one country, two systems" is not only an inheritance but also the evolution of the idea of peaceful liberation of Taiwan.
