The Fossilization of Interlanguage and College English Teaching

The fossilization,an inevitable phenomenon,impairs the learning efficiency in the second language acquisition(SLA).Based on the theory of interlanguage fossilization,the paper suggests blending language learning with culture cognition in English teaching and puts forward some feasible learning strategies to reduce the transfer of mother tongue and avoid the fossilization of interlanguage by adapting leanrning resouces and handling learners errors properly.
