Integration and pioneering: on the turn-of-the century prose writing

Prose writing at the turn of the century is characterized with a pheno menon of dilemma in its orientation: multiplicity and poverty, a result of too n arrow understanding of the "self" concept in prose writing. Prose writing in the new century should go to a higher aesthetic stage with creative endeavors and m ore care for humanities if it is to be a new narration of exploring the social r eality and human nature in depth.
