On Zhao Shuli and his creative objective

Zhao Shuli's literary creation has attained surpassing and original achievements in the course of China's literary nationalization and popularization, and must not be regarded as something low in grade or as an “artistic accommodation” to readership in the countryside. His creative objective has embodied the logical development of the esthetic pursuit of contemporary Chinese literature, so much so that the many creative works of his have not only become a precious spiritual wealth worthy of esthetic appreciation and serious study, but have also exerted extensive influence upon international literary world.
