“本色”是中国戏曲理论中的一个重要概念。“本色”一词从出现至宋、元、明,逐渐在戏曲领域占据重要地位,特别是在明中叶后,“本色”“当行”的相提并论使得“本色”内涵向更深层次发展,至清代以及当今,“本色”得到了进一步的补充和完善。

"Ben se" is an important concept in Chinese drama theory.From its appearance to Song,Yuan,Ming Dynasty,"Ben se" gradually occupies an important status,especially after the intermediate period of Ming Dynasty.At that time,"Ben se" and "Dang hang" are placed on a par which caused the connotation of "Ben se" to a deeper level.In Qing Dynasty as well as present,"Ben se" also obtains the further supplement and improvement.
